1). It take (sb) time to do sth是一个常用的句型,意为“花(某人)多少时间做某事”。It用作形式主语,真正的主语是to do sth。如:
It took the police two weeks to return everything to normal.
    I get paid twice a month.
    类似的还有: get started/ killed/ punished/ dressed/  married/ bored
    5. Meetings and appointments take up a large part of the day.
New industries have taken up too much of the farmland.
His time is fully taken up with writing.
He dropped medicine and took up physics.
Take up arms to defend the freedom.
    6. Besides I get bored if there’s nothing to do and I like being busy and being challenged.
    1). besides=also, what’s more, in addition,

    2). being busy和being challenged是两个并列结构,在句中一起作动词like的宾语。

    7. I find painting or drawing very relaxing.
    8. I really love playing the piano, but I can’t stand singing in front of the class.

I can’t stand waiting any longer
